Here is a small clip from our two hour marathon commitment ceremony in 1994. Some of the most beautiful human beings we ever knew were there to help us unite as a couple, and as a loving community. We had over 75 members of our friendship, and family, community to help us. The Empowerment Community was well represented here, with close to 15 members attending, including its patriarch, Michal Sutton. Chip Edie videotaped the ceremony, and provided a most wonderful wedding cake! June Thomas, I have some video files with you, Victor and Jason, though not on this file. Some of the most beloved people in our lives were here to join us for our 1994 wedding in our back yard. So much has changed, since then. But, not our love for each other, and for those who have blessed our lives. I don’t know why life must take the heart and gut wrenching twists and turns that it does. I only know that, for those who are now lost to us, we are still blessed by the love that was shared between all of us before it was lost to disease, death, or emotional distance. For those who persevered, and stayed connected, we appreciate you beyond measure, as well.We miss my grandmother Beatrice, my mother Corinne, my father Beryl, Bessie (Sharon’s mother), Victor Thomas, Neal and Bea Mitchell, Bill Jollo, Michael Sutton, Ray Werth, Ursula Gilliam, Rae Mason, and others, who have succumbed to death since the ceremony. We also miss those who have chosen other paths to walk upon, whose paths do not presently intersect with our own.All that I ever wanted, since I was born, was to be able to love the world, and, in turn, be loved back from it. I wanted Peace to prevail in all of life. Prior to 1987, the lack of those qualities in my life drove me to the brink of death. 1987 was the year that the Life I had sought since birth finally dawned upon me. Since my first date with Sharon, in 1989, I have known little else but love, peace, and fulfillment with her. This wedding day, I was truly fulfilled, and I had my glimpse of Heaven with my Life Partner, Sharon White. I would accompany others to the end of the earth, if necessary, to help others to find that gift that Mankind forever seeks, yet so rarely, or incompletely finds.
