Iused to accumulate a lot of family members, friends, a and acquaintances, .c addition to associated material items. They were f decorations the heart, for sure, and always loved and appreciated. Yet, over the last, 30 years, death, dementia, and/or disinterest has taken the majority of my connections away. I am still out there living life, but few are interested in developing new friendships 70 year olds, or so it appears. Writing has done litle to bring new friends into the fold, as well I still have a sharp mind and memory, so the accumulations of the past are not going away anytime soon. Many are bittersweet memories now, but am not prepared for the real house cleaning that dementia and/or death will inevitably provide.
