Last weekend, my wife and I drove up to Larch Mountain, which is about 13 miles east of Corbett, Oregon. Those who have read my writings know that this location has ultimate significance in my spiritual unfoldment, and, in fact, I had a most profound spiritual experience there on June 22, 1987. The truth revealed to me on that day, in this sacred location still lives within me, and guides most conscious perceptions.
It was a beautiful sunny day, and we thoroughly enjoyed our drive. Upon arriving at the parking area at Larch Mountain, we hiked the final 1/4 mile, or so, which included about 150 steps upward, to visit the open air observatory. From this site many of the great mountains in Oregon and Washington may be seen, and this day was no exception. Truly a remarkable reentry for me, and we talked extensively about my great event of 35 years ago.
On the drive home, I decided to take a drive through some of the same roads I used to drive upon when I worked for the City Of Portland Water Bureau. I was an electrician with them from 2006 through my retirement in 2013. The last three years I almost exclusively worked up at the Bull Run reservoir area, which is a two dam system where the City of Portland is able to store up water for most of their annual water needs for the citizenry of Portland.
I was forced into retirement by a friend, who became my supervisor, when he betrayed my trust, and inexplicably targeted me and another employee for disciplinary action. He lied on the report, and it became common knowledge within our department that our friendship had ceased with his betrayal of me. Our department was under the hypnotism of toxic masculinity, and, of course, a toxic work environment resulted from this testosterone driven spiritual incompetency. Try as I might, I continued to bring as much peace and healing intentions into the toxic atmosphere, but the attitudes were impenetrable to change or reason, so I just hung on to the end of my career in May of 2013. It was not a pretty ending, but I did secure a “golden parachute” after threatening a lawsuit against our department, and the City.
