And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

– Luke 2:7

The Real Christmas Birth is not just some parable from a Christian religious text, but it can be a real, personal spiritual experience, and it can be consciously realized by all of humanity. And, the new birth always is nurtured in a humbled space, as the spiritual ideals are never welcomed within a busy mind that is filled with itself.

I make the analogy that our nation’s first trip to the moon can be spiritually equivalent to bringing forth a higher degree of love and truth into the world, or the birthing, or awakening of a collective Christ Consciousness. I now offer the following quote from John F. Kennedy:

“We set sail on this new sea because there is new knowledge to be gained, and new rights to be won, and they must be won and used for the progress of all people. For space science, like nuclear science and all technology, has no conscience of its own. Whether it will become a force for good or ill depends on man, and only if the United States occupies a position of pre-eminence can we help decide whether this new ocean will be a sea of peace or a new terrifying theater of war. I do not say that we should or will go unprotected against the hostile misuse of space any more than we go unprotected against the hostile use of land or sea, but I do say that space can be explored and mastered without feeding the fires of war, without repeating the mistakes that man has made in extending his writ around this globe of ours.

There is no strife, no prejudice, no national conflict in outer space as yet. Its hazards are hostile to us all. Its conquest deserves the best of all mankind, and its opportunity for peaceful cooperation may never come again. But why, some say, the Moon? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask, why climb the highest mountain? Why, 35 years ago, fly the Atlantic? Why does Rice play Texas?

We choose to go to the Moon! We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others, too.”

—-President John F. Kennedy, September 12, 1962

It can be proposed that the human being has three potential degrees of consciousness, the unconscious state, the aware state, and the self-aware state, We spend most of our time in the unconscious state, where we are basically living life through our habits of thought, without a second thought about our thoughts and their ultimate source, or our subsequent behavior inspired by those inchoate impressions. Fear, social insecurity, and an almost total disconnect with nature, and the oppression of feelings of curiosity, awe, and wonder, predominate in this state of being. We live out from our culture’s wayward understanding of life. We tend to hold the world, and each other, hostage to our judgements and diseases. In this first stage of our unfoldment, humanity forever exists on the launching pad of life, while never fully engaging the launch sequence for the truth of existence, with its spiritual expression. Jesus is an idol to worship in this state of being, if there is any “religious ideation” at all. Tribalism predominates the thinking and the action, with little thought for the validity of others’ points of view.

While in the second stage of our unfoldment, which is the aware state, we may engage in more conscious behavior such as goal setting and achieving, which may be the impetus to start the launch sequence for our “rocket of life”. This second state of human potential does not supply the conditions for transcending the self and its limitations, though it gives enough insight to indicate that a change of heart is a desirable outcome. We show concern for our neighbors, yet don’t get over-involved in their lives. If there is any contemplation of Truth, Jesus is no longer seen as the only savior, but rather as a teacher and a prophet. Family, friends, and neighbors remain important, but there is now the beginnings of concern for others, especially those less fortunate than ourselves.

The third stage of our unfoldment is the self-aware state, which is achieved once one has not only left the launching pad, but has also transcended the boundaries of the historical self. We can now soar into the new, unexplored mysteries of human spiritual potential and experience love for all life. All life is recognized as being extensions of one’s own life, and we accept responsibility for the preservation and protection for the totality of life. We are concerned for our neighbor–human, animal, and plant- both in our country, and in other countries around the world Jesus, the Buddha, Krishna, or the Great Spirit is now seen as a brother and co-creator with us in Love, whose message resonates within our own heart, as our own unique messages also resonates within the hearts of our family and friends, and the small part of the world that knows us. Our personal boundaries become less defined in terms of our selfish needs, as a more global mindset predominates, bringing concern for the totality of life into the forefront of our awareness. We have become conscious stewards of our planet. s of our planet.

Why would anybody ever want to become more consciously aware as a human being? Why would anybody ever want to explore the unknown and unknowable within one’s self, and leave the safety and security of all of one’s accumulated life experience? Why would anybody ever want to begin to question, and, potentially, then abandon, all of one’s personal knowledge, especially the memories that lead to one’s suffering? Why would anybody ever want to commit several thousand hours of their valuable time in reading about religion and spirituality, enhancing introspection, developing intuition and insight, improving the mysterious practices of both meditation and prayer, and exploring new meetings and workshops with strangers?

Why would anybody ever want to develop the intention of transforming one’s life so as to be happier, healthier, and better connected with the greater meaning and purpose available for one’s life? Why would anybody ever want to undertake the epic journey of transforming oneself, and being reborn into a new reality where the will to live and prosper is an innate part of being? Why would anybody want to take up the spiritual mantle of all consciously realized human beings who have ever lived, and attempt to carry that energy forward into a new, unique life experience, while blessing others’ lives, as well as one’s own?

My goal in life was certainly not to become a diseased human being, attempt recovery from that disease, and, ultimately to become irrelevant to all who have no interest in my journey.. Yet, that is one of several views that I have from this piece of spiritual real estate that I presently occupy.

Yet, another view that I also entertain is that the “wise ones” of our age may yet drum up sufficient support for a healing change in collective and individual consciousness, before our planet fails, and our civilization collapses upon itself..
Why choose this goal?

“. . . But why, some say, the Moon? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask, why climb the highest mountain? Why, 35 years ago, fly the Atlantic? Why does Rice play Texas?. . . “

Just like the journey into outer space that America undertook to reach the moon, America can also succeed in the journey to the center of our minds, where all of our opportunities, and perils, reside.

“. . . not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win,. . . “

This post has been written by a man who never had anything to say, or a desire to say it, until nearly dying thirty-one years ago. It only took me another thirty-one years to finally put life experiences to words, after more brushes with DEATH.. Death is the final frontier, and motivator for the procrastinator.. Early death threatens everybody, including our planet Earth.

This life of mine has become a “Miracle Experiment”, in which I have attempted to penetrate our cultural conspiracy of silence, the conspiracy that keeps mankind imbalanced and diseased, and prevents humanity from achieving its collective potential. Note that I indicate that I am penetrating the “conspiracy of silence” rather than dispelling it, as the power of the collective experience still dominates human consciousness. My life was not lived in vain, however, for I am a part of a massive movement to heal the American soul. I will continue to write, and to speak out, until I am no more. I will continue to attempt to document the process, and present it to the world

“. . . we help decide whether this new ocean will be a sea of peace or a new terrifying theater of war. I do not say that we should or will go unprotected against the hostile misuse of space any more than we go unprotected against the hostile use of land or sea, but I do say that space can be explored and mastered without feeding the fires of war, without repeating the mistakes that man has made in extending his writ around this globe of ours. . . . “

Bringing forth the real Christ, our “hope for glory”, is the emergence of our real Self upon this diseased world. There is no worthier goal to aspire to. And, there is no hope for our planet, unless more of us manifest our Real Self.

To the ignorant, superstitious sheep of the world, the question remains “what would Jesus do?”
To the wise shepherd within each of us, the question eternally asked is “what will I do?”

It is time for us all to be”birthers of the Christ”. Love propels us off of the launching pad of life, into the Great Life that we can all share together in greater harmony and peace. Our world may then have a chance at survival.

We may then enter into the Sacred Heart of Mankind.

Merry Christ Consciousness to All.

Presently, I am 67 years old, and I am learning how to live the life of a retired person. I am married to Sharon White, a retired hospice nurse, and writer. Whose Death Is It Anyway-A Hospice Nurse Remembers Sharon is a wonderful friend and life partner of nearly 30 years. We have three grandsons through two of Sharon's children. I am not a published writer or poet. My writings are part of my new life in retirement. I have recently created a blog, and I began filling it up with my writings on matters of recovery and spirituality. I saw that my blog contained enough material for a book, so that is now my new intention, to publish a book, if only so that my grandsons can get to know who their grandfather really was, once I am gone. The title for my first book will be: Penetrating The Conspiracy Of Silence, or, How I Lived Beyond My Expiration Date I have since written 7 more books, all of which are now posted on this site. I have no plans to publish any of them, as their material is not of general interest, and would not generate enough income to justify costs. I have taken a deep look at life, and written extensively about it from a unique and rarely communicated perspective. Some of my writing is from 2016 on to the present moment. Other writing covers the time prior to 1987 when I was a boy, then an addict and alcoholic, with my subsequent recovery experience, and search for "Truth". Others are about my more recent experiences around the subjects of death, dying, and transformation, and friends and family having the most challenging of life's experiences. There are also writings derived from my personal involvement with and insight into toxic masculinity, toxic religion, toxic capitalism, and all of their intersections with our leadere. These topics will not be a draw for all people, as such personal and/or cultural toxicities tends to get ignored, overlooked, or "normalized" by those with little time for insight, introspection, or interest in other people's points of view on these troubling issues. There also will be a couple of writings/musings about "GOD", but I try to limit that kind of verbal gymnastics, because it is like chasing a sunbeam with a flashlight. Yes, my books are non-fiction, and are not good reading for anybody seeking to escape and be entertained. Some of the writings are spiritual, philosophical and intellectual in nature, and some descend the depths into the darkest recesses of the human mind. I have included a full cross section of all of my thoughts and feelings. It is a classic "over-share", and I have no shame in doing so. A Master Teacher once spoke to me, and said "no teacher shall effect your salvation, you must work it out for yourself". "Follow new paths of consciousness by letting go of all of the mental concepts and controls of your past". This writing represents my personal work towards that ultimate end.
